About this site

An independent, privacy-first take on the classic 100-question Rice Purity Test — and a plain account of who builds it.

RicePurity.co is an independent implementation of the Rice Purity Test. We are not affiliated with Rice University, the Rice Thresher, or ricepuritytest.com.

The test is a 100-question self-assessment that began at Rice University as a student bonding activity. We keep the question set faithful to the canonical version. What we add is everything around it: an interpretation for all 101 possible results, statistical context with its sources and its limits stated, thorough FAQ coverage, and a sharing system that never stores your answers.

Why we built it

The original test at ricepuritytest.com survives essentially unchanged from its 1980s form. That has real historical value, but it leaves a lot on the table for someone taking it today. Most alternatives are clones with stale interfaces, invasive tracking, intrusive advertising, or all three.

This site started from a conversation about how many online quizzes are built to harvest attention rather than answer a question. We thought the experience could be simpler: fast on a phone, no account, no data collection, and a real explanation at the end instead of a bare number.

What we claim, and what we don't

The Rice Purity Test is not a scientifically validated instrument. It has never been peer-reviewed, normed against a representative population, or shown to predict anything about a person.

A score is the arithmetic result of answering one specific list of questions. Nothing on this site presents it as a measure of character, morality, maturity, mental health, or relationship compatibility — and nothing ever will.

Who runs this site

Three people build and maintain RicePurity.co. Each of us is accountable for a specific part of what you read here.

Jetmal Singh Founder and Editorial Director

Jetmal created RicePurity.co and is responsible for its overall direction and for everything published on it. He has five years of experience in SEO and content strategy, and reviews the site's content plan, search performance, and long-term priorities.

Accountable for: Editorial decisions, corrections, partnerships.·LinkedIn·Facebook·Author profile

Imdad Content Writer and Editorial Researcher

Imdad researches article topics, prepares drafts, and reviews pages for clarity, tone, and consistency. His focus is making sure each article answers the reader's actual question instead of restating what is already available elsewhere.

Accountable for: Research, drafting, source-checking.

Sanaullah Site Experience and Quality Review

Sanaullah reviews the overall website experience: page usability, unclear sections, and consistency across the tests, tools, and informational pages. He signs off before major changes ship.

Accountable for: Pre-publish QA and usability review.

How we create and review content

Every page starts from a question people actually ask. Before publishing, a second person reviews it for clarity, accuracy, and tone. Pages that make factual claims link to the original source wherever one exists.

We separate three kinds of statement, and we write them differently: verified facts supported by an identifiable source; editorial interpretation, which is our reading of the available information; and practical guidance, which is a suggestion and not a scientific conclusion.

Our full standards live in our Editorial Policy, and every substantive correction we have made is logged publicly on our Corrections page.

How we handle statistics

There is no statistical authority for the Rice Purity Test. No representative sample, no published methodology, no peer-reviewed dataset sits behind any average score you will read online — ours included.

The figures on this site come from aggregated publicly reported results. Those results are self-selected, self-reported, and skewed toward the internet-using young adult population that seeks the test out. We name the source next to every figure, and we do not present these numbers as population statistics. Where no reliable figure exists, we say so rather than estimating.

Privacy, and how to verify it

Your answers are scored in your browser and never transmitted to us. We run no database of individual scores, require no account, and do not fingerprint devices. A shared score link contains only a number and expires after 14 days.

You don't have to take our word for it. Open your browser's network tab while taking the test: no answer data leaves the page. The full detail is in our Privacy Policy.

How the site stays free

RicePurity.co is funded entirely by standard display advertising. We run no popups, no autoplaying video, and no ads that interrupt the test. We don't sell user data because we don't collect any. There is currently no sponsored content and there are no affiliate links on this site; if that changes, it will be labelled on the page itself and noted in our Editorial Policy.

Get in touch

Corrections, suggestions, bug reports, and partnership inquiries are all welcome at [email protected]. We reply to most messages within a few business days and we prioritise error reports — include the page URL and the specific claim, and we'll look at it first.
