This site is an independent, modern implementation of the Rice Purity Test. We're not affiliated with Rice University or the Rice Thresher. We built this site to provide a contemporary version of the classic 100-question test with the features that modern users expect: a clean mobile-first interface, sectioned navigation that respects user comfort, detailed score interpretation for every possible result, statistics-backed demographic analysis, and a sharing system that prioritizes privacy.
Why we built this
The original Rice Purity Test at ricepuritytest.com is preserved essentially unchanged from its 1980s form. That has historical value, but it leaves a lot on the table for a 2026 user. The existing alternatives are mostly clones with stale interfaces, invasive tracking, intrusive advertising, or all three. We saw room for a version that takes the classic test seriously, treats users with respect, and produces something that actually feels modern.
The 100-question test stays faithful to the canonical version that students have been taking for nearly a century. What we add is everything around the test: thoughtful score interpretation, statistical context, audience-specific framing, comprehensive FAQ coverage, and a sharing system that doesn't compromise privacy.
Our principles
Privacy by default. Your answers never leave your browser. We don't run a database of scores, don't track users, don't fingerprint devices. If you don't share your score, no one ever sees it but you.
No moralizing. The Rice Purity Test isn't a measure of character. We frame every score as data, not as judgment. There's no "good" or "bad" score on this site, only different scores meaning different things.
Statistics-backed content. Every claim about averages, percentiles, and demographic patterns comes from real data — primarily from arealme.com's public statistical reports and aggregated public data on Rice Purity Test results. We don't make up numbers.
Modern accessibility. The site works on mobile, supports keyboard navigation, has proper contrast ratios, and is designed for the actual devices people use today. No legacy desktop-only interfaces.
How this site stays free
The site is monetized through carefully chosen, non-intrusive advertising. We don't run popup ads, autoplaying video ads, or ads that interrupt the test experience. We don't sell user data because we don't collect any. The advertising model funds development and hosting; it doesn't compromise the experience.
